Rethink possible
This is what AT&T changed their slogan to a few years back.  Do we really want to rethink what is possible when we can know what is possible?  Possible, by definition, means that you may know, may happen to come to pass, may be done.
In the story about the rich young ruler, I find it interesting he asked Jesus the question, “What do I still lack?”  He just got through telling Jesus he basically had kept all the rules, so it’s like he is saying, “Am I missing something here?”  Makes me laugh because I know Jesus had the answer.  Jesus wanted his heart – a heart separated from the world and its concerns.  Jesus makes it simple!  He says, “Follow Me.”  Here is the key to what makes following Him possible and knowing what possible is!  To believe in Him with all your heart.

I’m sure we can all identify with the rich young ruler, perhaps holding a bit too tightly to our earthly possessions or relationships, believing they will bring us the happiness we desire in this life.  When you believe in Him, you are connected to the true riches, the riches of heaven that He freely gives when we desire a relationship with Him first.  Here you will find endless possibilities.

Matt. 19:16-26 NASB

16And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18 Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder; you shall not commit commit adultery, you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness, honor your father and your mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
23 And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

It begins with the decision in your heart.

  1. I love that. Another way to look at it perhaps is that with God nothing is IMpossible. So as Christians we can "rethink possible" and know that with God ALL things are possible!
